Pre-Treatment Services
Cure
The application of carefully controlled heat to a fabric to
cause a reaction in the finishing agents and make them work
together.
Heat Set
A treatment that will stabilize many man-made fiber fabrics
so that there will not be any subsequent change in shape or
size.
Inspect & Measure
A process by which each yard of material is visually
inspected for flaws and general condition. Recommended
whenever there is any question about the quality of goods
sent for finishing.
Pre-Shrink
This process helps reduce residual shrinkage and increase
stability for draperies, and is not intended to prevent
shrinkage due to washing. This is not a chemical or
mechanical process, but a natural shrinkage followed by
gentle drying. Degree of shrinkage is determined by content
and construction of fabric.
Reframing
A process in which the cloth is held out to as near the
finished width as possible on a pin tenter frame.
Steam & Frame
A process of steaming the fabric to open the yarns, allowing
natural fibers to “bloom” while framing aligns the fibers as
the fabric is gently dried.

Fireblocker Lamination
A specially treated tricot knit backing that is approved by
the State of CA for TB 133.
Knit Backing

Non-Woven Backing

100% recyclable spun-polyester material backing for improved
fabric integrity for upholstery or wall coverings.
Muslin Backing
A loosely-woven unbleached cotton backing.
Provides improved drape characteristics and a significantly
stronger seam strength than Knit or Non-Woven. Muslin
breathes well, and is a good choice of backing for hot, dry
climates.
Paper-Backing
100% recyclable material that consists of recycled
cellulose. Ideal for all types of fabrics used in a direct
glue installation. An excellent choice when a coating
such as Acrywall is not an option.
